I work at a school. How do I implement the program?

This program is designed to be adaptable to fit your classroom needs. Depending on how many devices you have, and your student’s ability level—you can implement this program as a whole group, small group, or one-to-one.

I live in Utah. Does this program qualify for Utah Fits All?

10 minutes each day, four to five days per week, and up to a year to fully complete.

The program can be completed using iPads with IOS 13+, Chromebooks, and laptops using Google Chrome.

As long as a child uses Google Chrome (using a Chromebook or laptop), they can access the program anywhere. However, if a child uses the program on the iPad through the app, they can only login to the program using the app on an iPad.

Is We Are Friends available in other languages?

No, not at this time. It is only available in English.

Does We Are Friends have closed captions?

No, not at this time. Only in the social skills songs.

Who are influencers, and why are they important?

This program is designed to integrate real people the child knows into the program such as a parent, teacher or therapist. This is a unique and fun way for children to build connections and feel support by key influencers in their lives.

Can my child/student start the We Are Friends program if the influencers haven’t recorded their videos?

Yes, but it’s not ideal because they’ll only see the demo influencer videos. This hinders the child’s opportunity to develop better relationships with their assigned influencers.

Why is my child/student hearing background noise during their recorded social skills song?

Children are encouraged to wear headphones while participating in We Are Friends to effectively record videos and songs and to ensure clear audio.

Does my child/student need to record the song?

While kids enjoy recording themselves singing the social skill songs, recording is completely optional! If you’re an educator using this program with a whole group, we suggest not recording the song. Instead, have the students sing along together! Most device microphones aren’t able to capture multiple voices at once.

My child/student will not take their photo. What should I do?

That is okay. Sometimes it takes time for a child to feel comfortable taking their photo. There are several alternatives. You can have the child draw a picture or find an object that represents them and take a photo of that instead. Keep encouraging them to take their photo, and with time, they may feel more comfortable.
